Cameron Benson is a Geelong based artist. Cameron’s mother was of English- Scottish origin, while his father was born in Tenant Creak Northern Territory from the Eastern Arrernte people. Cameron’s artistic inspiration came from his mother who was also an artist with a passion for drawing and painting. Cameron often watched his mother as she would paint and draw. Cameron’s style has elements of traditional Aboriginal x-ray art and dot painting with a modern twist, using bright and vibrant colours. Cameron gets immense enjoyment from painting, creating his interpretation of what he sees in nature. From a child, Cameron has always been proud to be of Aboriginal decent, having the ancestry of the original inhabitants of the great south land, Australia.
